sunshine

Waking up to sunny summer days, knowing that we will soon be leaving these fair shores, there is MUCH that we have been wanting to do and see. With precious time left we are trying to make the most of every last moment in Australia and not get too distracted by work, study, packing, you know THOSE practicalities. Although nearing the end of work-dom and these sunny days do have me in a delightful mood ready for adventures and fun.

We have been packing in as much of the summer that we so love and spending as much time with friends and family as possible. This makes for one very happy me and simultaneously a very happy belly as this of course includes indulging in as many treats, delights and homemade delicacies.

Last weekend commenced with a visit to the local markets and cooking up a serious storm with my dearest pal k.p. and a very refreshing bottle of wine. We made some seriously yum pies and plotted and planned many adventures to come, including picnics in the botanic gardens the next day.

A long while since I have been to the botanic gardens and it was a stunning day for such frivolity, checking out the palm house, the cactus garden, an amazon lilly and of course stopping to enjoy an ice cream.

BUT. The weekend was really all about a's beautiful Grannie's 80th and all of the family from far and wide arriving to celebrate in good ol fashioned birthday throw down style. Dad at the bbq, the mums prepping the salads, kids in the pool, everyone a beer or champagne in hand. There was much catching up to do, new people to meet, and a grand time had by all.

Below. Some snaps.
